Setting Up the Perfect Bat House #152

As mentioned in this Bat House article, putting up a bat house will help control any insect problem you might have. So how do you set up just the right bat house? Here are some tips. Make sure your bat house:

  • has a narrow creviced entranceway located at the bottom
  • has screened or rough surfaces inside for the bats to hold onto.
  • is hung at least 10 to 15 feet above the ground
  • is sheltered from the direct wind
  • is located in the vicinity of a source of water (such as marsh, lake, or stream)

These attributes will help ensure your bat house will attract bats. The right habitat will attract insects and provide a plentiful food supply for the bats, therefore giving you a powerful team of pest controllers.
